What a week we have had. We finally got some much needed rain. It was not enough to satisfy the ground's thirst, but anything will help at this point. We got our first litter of piglets on the farm. Our Duroc Gilt had six nice looking red piglets for us. They are all doing well in the farrowing shelter in the field. Our sweet corn has come on nicely, but the drought has our timing of patches a little off. We will be having corn straight through Labor Day and beyond. It appears as though the next couple patches should be ready on time. Our current patch is a little behind where it should be for picking. The chickens are doing very well with another 30 set to be processed on Monday. We still have some left, so order now. The cows are ready to move to a new pasture tomorrow. We should be seeing a new calf within a couple days. So far, we have 4 calves this year. 3 bulls and a nice little heifer. We thank everyone who bought corn from us this week. Please let us know how it was. It is our goal to put out the best product possible.
